Most of her career was spent leading and training large regional and national sales organizations to deliver on the sales objectives for P&G product lines to the grocery, drug, and mass merchandiser retailers. Her core areas of expertise include: leadership, sales, retail operations, training & development, executive coaching, team effectiveness, and business consulting. In 2001, upon leaving P&G, Donna founded LifeQuest Coaching & Consulting, which provides coaching, training, and motivational speaking to such clients as: Procter & Gamble, Bob Evans, Anthem, Prefetti Van Melle, GE, Convergys, Kroger and Fifth Third Bank. She has also coached over 500 individual clients on leadership, career development and transition, new business start-ups, teamwork, work/life balance and strategic planning. Prior to the purchase of Blue Chip Cookies, Bob served as Franchise Business Advisor for Fiducial-Columbia where he developed key work processes to improve the Franchise Awarding System and served as a leader to other Franchise Business Advisors on various aspects of the awarding process. Bob's history in the franchising industry encompasses many different business models, and he has had the opportunity to serve in many capacities. His experiences include: Director of Franchise Development for Hangers Cleaners, a Franchise Sales Director for Cert-A-Roof International, Vice President of Franchise Development for TeamGolf Corporation, Franchise Sales Director for Dial One Worldwide, and other franchise positions for Coldwell Banker and Realty World Corporation. Why did you close your San Francisco Store?
Our stores are all franchised and each franchisee makes their own decision on whether to remain open in a location. Our franchisee made a personal decision to not remain open and to retire. We reviewed the opportunity for keeping this store as a corporate store, but the rent was not in our business model range.
Do you franchise or license?
Yes, we now do both. Click here to read about our programs.
Are you planning to come back to California and open stores?
We are offering Licensing opportunities now in California which is available for current bakery/cafes or new bakeries to carry the Blue Chip Cookie Product line. Franchising in California is more expensive due to regulations, so we feel the best way to get back into the marketplace in through licensing.
Do you offer more than just cookies?
Our new stores are focused on 5 major product lines: Cookies, Baked Goods, Gelato/Sorbetto, Espresso/Coffee/Smoothies and Sandwiches.
Do you ship your products?
Yes...we ship cookies, coffee, rice krispie treat, cookie cakes. www.bluechipcookiesdirect.com
Do you have nutritional values for your products?
Yes...we completed our cookies' nutritional values. We are now working on our gelato, coffee drinks and other products.
How do you store your cookies to keep them fresh as long as possible?
There are two ways to store our cookies, but it is important to know that our cookies have NO preservatives. If you plan to eat them within 3 days simply put them in a ziploc bag If you put them in a cookie jar...they will quickly become stale because they exposed to the air. The other way is to simply freeze them immediately and take out when you want to eat them...thaw for 20 minutes or microwave for 20 seconds.

What is the difference between Licensing and Franchising.
Licensing: When you a purchase the Blue Chip Cookies License your will have access to all our recipe and to purchase the secret ingredient that goes in our cookies. You pay a License fee to carry the License for 7 years which give you the approval to use our recipes, logo, mascot, receive initial training, and the ability to purchase our special ingredients directly from Blue Chip Gourmet, Inc. A licensee has access to the Blue Chip Cookies logo and mascot for all marketing and store material. No system is provided or operational guide, just the info, recipe book and process for making the Blue Chip Cookies in your store specific to the License. Licensees can be new or be in current location and choose to add Blue Chip Cookies to their product line up.
Franchising: When you purchase the Franchising Rights you are purchasing the full Blue Chip Gourmet System to include all aspects of running the business from build out, equipment, access to vendors, special prices, marketing, coaching and more. Franchising is regulated by the states and FTC. Areas are available for Franchising.Only Blue Chip Gourmet menu items can be served all others must be approved.
What is the Franchise Fee and what does my Franchise Fee cover?
The 2010 Franchise Fee is $29,500. You will have the legal rights to use the registered trademark, recipes, and systems provided to conduct and operate a Blue Chip Gourmet franchise in your designated area.
What is the ®Royalty Fee?
5 %. This is to be paid weekly.
Is there a national marketing fee?
At this time, no, we want each store to locally market,. We do have the rights to implement if the opportunity is there for larger marketing.
Is financing available?
Yes, we can provide contact information of experienced and trusted third party financial sources who can offer flexible programs to fit your needs. The ultimate decisions on financial programs, however, will be between you and the financial source. Generally speaking, one needs: 60,000 liquid, a net worth of $400,000, credit score of 700 to be considered by third party financing entities.
Do I need experience?
Yes, it is our determination that some kind of restaurant and operational experience is required to be successful in this business.
What sort of training is provided by Blue Chip Gourmet, Inc.?
You will be required to attend a training course at the Loveland, Ohio, base of Blue Chip Gourmet, Inc. for a few days to get indoctrinated under the Blue Chip Gourmet systems. You will then spend two weeks either at the corporate store in Loveland or at an approved area director’s store in your area to complete your initial training for store operations.
Is there a mandatory equipment start-up requirement for franchising?
Yes, our initial equipment package is between $50,000-$70,00, which includes everything you need to operate your business.
How much does it cost to open a Blue Chip Gourmet?
Typically, our new Franchisees come in with $60,000-80,000 liquid. The equipment package is $70,000. The build out of the store can range from $150,000-325,000 depending on the size and scope of the location you choose. There are also options for a Blue Chip Express that requires only several product lines.
How long does it take to get open a store?
Once a lease is executed, it will take 3 to 6 months, depending the starting condition of your store location and the lease agreement. Delays can happen due to developer schedule. The Equipment Package and the Design Package can be executed in less than 45 days. We have now 2 contracting companies that understand our business and will deliver excellent service.
How much money will I make?
Blue Chip Gourmet, Inc. cannot provide any earnings claim. Your profitability is dependent on many factors such as sales, rent, financing terms you negotiate, and your ability to MANAGE the business. We will provide parameters you should maintain in the course of operating your business and a template to project your proforma.
Does Blue Chip Gourmet, Inc. help with site selection?
Our team of experts will assist you by providing coaching and counseling in your important decision of site selection. Blue Chip Gourmet, Inc must approve of the location and will provide guidelines, but the final choice is yours.
